KMT's Biomedical Division has extensive experience testing medical devices and implants. Devices commonly tested include:
- Hip implants – KMT offers testing to all parts of ISO 7206 or ASTM F-1440.
- Knee implants – KMT offers testing on tibial trays to ASTM F-1800 or ISO 14879.
- Spinal implants – KMT has extensive experience testing vertebral body replacements, interbody fusion devices, cervical plates, and rod/screw devices to ASTM F-1717 and ASTM F-2077.
- Trauma, Extremities and Dental – KMT has tested bone plates, screws, elbow joints, shoulder implants and dental implants. Frequently requested standards include ASTM F-384, ASTM F-1264, ASTM F-382, and ISO 14801.
- Biomedical metals and materials such as Titanium, Nitinol, medical wire, and porous coatings.
- Surgical instruments and tools such as bone saws, drills, and torque limiting devices.
